Can I use Minute Rice® in any recipe that calls for regular rice?

It depends, if a recipe calls for a bed of rice, no problem! Simply prepare Minute Rice® separately according to package directions. However, if the recipe has rice mixed in with other things, the same substitution cannot be made.


How do I cook Minute Rice® White or Brown rice in a rice cooker?

First, spray your rice cooker with non-stick cooking spray. Then, follow the Minute Rice® package directions for your selected serving size. Combine rice and water in the rice cooker and turn the rice cooker on. That’s all there is to it!


How do I reheat my Minute Rice® leftovers?

Leftovers can be reheated in the oven (350°F for refrigerated dishes, 400°F for frozen), cook top or microwave, until heated through. Add more liquid, if necessary.


Can I reuse the Minute Rice® Ready to Serve plastic cup?

Yes, Minute Rice® Ready to Serve cups can actually be reused as a measuring cup! The cup is equivalent to about 1 cup.


Do I have to rinse my rice before cooking it?

No, you do not have to rinse Minute Rice®.


Should I adjust the cooking time of my casseroles when I use Minute® Rice?

Although Minute® Rice cooked on top of the stove only needs 5 minutes of cooking time, when using Minute® Rice in casseroles don’t adjust baking time.



How do I store my Minute Rice® leftovers?

Prepared dishes made with Minute Rice® can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. They may also be frozen, while ensuring cookware is freezer safe.


How should I store MINUTE® Rice?

Store package in a cool, dry place in the original box or other container, which permits circulation of air.


How should my MINUTE® Rice be stored if it hasn’t been opened?

The proper way to store MINUTE® Rice is at room temperature, in a cool dry place.

This will insure that the product is perfect for consumption when opened (but used by the “best when used by date”).


I’ve had my MINUTE® Rice in my pantry for a while now. How can I tell if it has expired?

Our products are stamped with a production code date and a BEST BY date. As an example, your box may be stamped as follows: 103M2 04 07:50

103 = Julian Date (103rd day of the year)
M2= is the plant code and year produced
04= is the packaging line number
07:50 = is the time (in military time = 750am)

To assure the best quality and flavor, we recommend that you use this product within two years of the date stamped


What is the shelf life of Minute® Ready to Serve?

From the date of manufacture, our Minute Ready to Serve products have a shelf life of one year.



What’s the difference between regular rice and Minute Rice®?

Minute Rice® has simply been pre-cooked for you to make cooking quicker. Minute Rice® has no additives or preservatives; it’s everything you know and love about rice, but quicker!


Are there any additives in Minute Rice® White or Brown rice?

There are no additives in Minute Rice® White or Brown rice, it is simply pre-cooked natural rice.



Why is the website URL What does that mean?

Can I feed Minute® Rice to my dog or cat?

Definitely, in fact Minute® Rice is an excellent food choice for both healthy and sick dogs and cats.


Can I put rice in a garbage disposal?

We do NOT recommend you put rice, raw or cooked into your garbage disposal. Rice expands when you add water and cook it in a pan and it does the same inside your pipes or garbage disposal.


Why are my Minute® Ready to Serve rice cups so hard to open?

Since this is a shelf stable product the integrity of the seal is what keeps the product safe and fresh. Therefore we must have a very tight seal so that our customers get the highest quality possible. If you have trouble removing the film, you can carefully use a knife or scissors to cut around the inside edge of the lid to completely remove the film.
